Mark Anchor Albert is of counsel at Hennigan, Bennett &
Dorman LLP. Mr. Albert specializes in prosecuting and defending
multi-state and national complex commercial and class action
litigation involving accounting and securities fraud, and
consumer fraud, and related appellate work.
Mr. Albert was part of an HBD team involved in prosecuting
a 50-million-person class action against State Farm Mutual
Automobile Insurance Co. alleging bad faith hoarding of surplus
capital, fraudulent understatement of assets and income, and
improper withholding of policyholder dividends. He briefed
and second-chaired all aspects of motion and appellate practice.
Mr. Albert was also involved in the defense of Bergen Brunswig
Corp., a Fortune 100 drug distribution company, in multiple
consolidated and coordinated securities class action proceedings
nationwide, which were ultimately settled on terms favorable
to Bergen. He also took part in prosecuting a securities
fraud action by Bergen. Mr. Albert has also been involved
in various state actions arising from the Enron bankruptcy
cases.
