Hazim
is Of Counsel to the intellectual property department of Hennigan,
Bennett & Dorman LLP. His practice focuses on strategic
patent portfolio management and patent litigation. Hazim has
extensive experience in analyzing patents and developing strategies
for extracting maximum value for IP assets from a market. His
technical expertise extends from the chemical/pharmaceutical
arts to electronics/software.
Prior to joining HBD, Hazim was the CEO of Metrix Services (PatentMetrix),
a Delhi-based firm that provides companies with a range of patent
services and patent compliance solutions. Hazim built and trained
a team of intellectual property professionals in Delhi, India,
which wrote patents and conducted patent infringement analyses
for numerous public and private companies. Previously, Hazim
was the VP of Business Development for Tomorrow Factory, a San
Francisco-based company that specialized in integration software
for business marketplaces. At Tomorrow Factory, he was appointed
CEO where he successfully restructured the company for merger
opportunities. Prior to Tomorrow Factory, Hazim was an intellectual
property attorney in O’Melveny & Myers’ Newport
Beach office where he represented numerous high technology companies
in the negotiation of intellectual property licensing and acquisition
deals, filing and prosecution of patent portfolios, structuring
of co-development and co-exploitation vehicles, and general
management of intellectual property assets.
