Ms. Chock, a partner with Hennigan, Bennett & Dorman
LLP, specializes in complex securities fraud litigation. Prior
to joining HBD in 2003, Ms. Chock was an associate at Latham
& Watkins.
Ms. Chock’s recent efforts have included the successful
opposition to CIBC World Market’s appellate challenge
to a $52 million trial verdict in a securities fraud case
brought by HBD on behalf of its investor clients Oaktree,
TCW, and Pacholder. HBD also succeeded in its cross-appeal
for several million dollars of prejudgment interest. The appellate
decision is published at OCM Principal Opportunities Fund,
L.P. v. CIBC World Markets Corp., 157 Cal. App. 4th 835 (2007).
Since 2005, Ms. Chock has been a member of the team of HBD
attorneys representing a number of U.S. institutional investors
in litigation against Bank of America in connection with the
insurance companies’ purchases of Parmalat-related debt
securities. Prior to that, Ms. Chock worked with the HBD team
representing a number of large U.S. institutional investors
in litigation against Wall Street banks in connection with
their purchase of Enron and Enron-related securities.
