Domestic and International Arbitration and ADR
Commercial parties increasingly turn to alternate dispute resolution, or “ADR,” to resolve their disputes. When they do, HBD lawyers are there to steer them through the particular challenges of arbitration, including such issues as understanding the differences between court litigation and arbitration, choosing the forum that is right for you, drafting enforceable arbitration clauses, selecting appropriate arbitrators for your industry and your dispute, understanding and navigating the procedural rules unique to arbitration, presenting your case in a persuasive way to a panel of arbitrators, and enforcing (or challenging, as the case may be) the final decision of the panel. Our lawyers have litigated, and tried to completion, cases in a wide variety of domestic and international arbitral forums, including AAA, JAMS, FINRA and ICC, and regularly litigate arbitration-related disputes in court. HBD lawyers also occasionally sit as arbitrators.
