Mr. Koenig has extensive experience in most important aspects of complex business litigation, including legal research, factual investigation and discovery, drafting of pleadings, discovery motions, dispositive motions and writs and appeals, general pre-trial and trial support practice, and appellate practice. Mr. Koenig has litigation experience in several substantive areas of the law, including copyright, construction, securities and First Amendment.

Mr. Koenig was a member of the team of HBD attorneys that represented the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Los Angeles in the multi-year clergy abuse litigation, which resulted in a global settlement in late 2007. He also was a member of the HBD trial team that obtained a $52 million trial judgment on behalf of Oaktree, TCW and Pacholder in a securities fraud action against CIBC World Markets. The judgment was upheld on appeal and the appellate decision is published at OCM Principal Opportunities Fund, L.P. v. CIBC World Markets Corp., 157 Cal. App. 4th 835 (2007).

Mr. Koenig joined the HBD in 1999 from Jones, Day, Reavis & Pogue, where he had been an associate in its Los Angeles office since 1996. Mr. Koenig began his litigation career in 1993 as an associate in the Los Angeles office of Debevoise & Plimpton.
